An English and Arabic LMS in the United States for schools, colleges and teams
الولايات المتحدة
Ilmoria started in the United States as the platform built for Ithraa School, an online school for grades 9–12 headquartered in Arizona. It runs courses, exams, transcripts and parent communication in English, and can switch every screen to Arabic for families and staff who need it.
Education and training in the United States
State rules and accreditation
Education in the US is governed state by state: states set learning standards, graduation requirements and rules for online and charter schools, while districts and private schools choose their own tools. K-12 schools often seek accreditation from bodies such as Cognia or regional associations, and colleges need an accreditor recognised by the US Department of Education for their students to receive federal financial aid.
Credits, GPAs and transcripts
High schools award credits towards a diploma, report GPAs and send transcripts to colleges, on an academic year that typically runs from August or September to May or June. Self-paced online courses still have to produce official records that colleges, employers and families trust.
Workplace training requirements
Several states, including California, New York and Illinois, require employers to provide regular sexual harassment prevention training, and OSHA standards require safety training in many industries. HR and L&D teams need completion records they can produce on request.
How Ilmoria fits institutions in the United States
Proven in a US online school
Ithraa School, headquartered in Arizona, runs its grades 9–12 programme on the platform Ilmoria grew from: self-paced courses, mentors who guide students, parents who follow progress and administrators who manage enrolment. Read the Ithraa School story.
Transcripts and certificates
Final grades become transcripts with GPA and credits, approved and locked as official PDFs. Certificates carry serial numbers and QR codes that open a public verification page for colleges and employers.
English first, Arabic when you need it
Islamic and Arabic-language schools, university Arabic programmes and US online schools serving families in the Middle East can switch any screen to Arabic, fully right to left. See the bilingual interface.
Parents, admissions and tuition
Parents follow progress and final grades, message staff in categorised conversations and print invoices and receipts. Admissions runs on single-use registration links, document uploads, placement tests and e-signed enrolment documents.
Training records for employers
Companies assign required courses, track completion by team and issue certificates with QR verification, so records are ready when an auditor or regulator asks.
Data protection: what to check
In the US, FERPA governs education records at schools and colleges that receive federal education funding, and COPPA, enforced by the Federal Trade Commission, covers online services that collect data from children under 13; the FTC's updated COPPA Rule took effect in June 2025, with compliance required by April 2026. Many states add student privacy laws, such as California's SOPIPA, New York's Education Law 2-d and Illinois's SOPPA, some of which require written data protection terms in vendor contracts. Review who can see which records, parental consent, retention and deletion, and where data is hosted. Ilmoria provides tools that help: consent records, role-based access, audit trails, and data export and deletion on request. We make no compliance claim on your behalf; see our security overview.
SecurityQuestions buyers ask
Is Ilmoria used by a school in the United States?
Yes. Ilmoria grew out of the platform built for Ithraa School, an online school headquartered in Arizona with an office in Doha, Qatar. Ithraa teaches grades 9–12 with self-paced courses, mentors, parents and administrators, and uses the platform every day for teaching, grading, parent communication and enrolment.
Can Ilmoria produce official transcripts with GPA and credits?
Yes. Transcripts are generated from final course grades, with letter grades from A+ to F, Incomplete and Withdrawn, plus GPA and credits. Teachers confirm final grades, admins can override them with a recorded reason, and transcripts go through an approval workflow before being locked as official PDFs.
How does Ilmoria help with FERPA and COPPA obligations?
Ilmoria gives you tools, not a compliance guarantee. Role-based permissions limit who sees each student record, audit trails log important actions, consent records show what was agreed, and data can be exported or deleted on request. Parents can see their child's grades in the parent portal. Your school remains responsible for its own policies and agreements.
Does Ilmoria support LTI or SCORM?
Not yet. LTI 1.3 and SCORM/xAPI packages are on the roadmap, not available today. Right now you can import and export users, courses and grades as CSV files, sign in with Google or Microsoft, and, on enterprise plans, connect other systems through a REST API, webhooks and SAML single sign-on.
Do we need to use Arabic at all?
No. Ilmoria works fully in English, and Arabic is an option each user can switch on for themselves. English-only institutions can ignore it entirely. It matters to schools with Arabic-speaking families, Arabic or Islamic studies programmes, or students in the Middle East, who get every screen fully right to left.
