A bilingual LMS in the UAE for every emirate, curriculum and campus

الإمارات العربية المتحدة

Ilmoria is a learning management system that works fully in Arabic and English. It gives school groups, universities and employers across the UAE one platform for courses, exams, grades, parent communication and certificates, with each school, campus or business unit kept separate.

Education and training in the UAE

Federal ministries and emirate regulators

The Ministry of Education sets national policy for schools, and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research leads higher education, where the Commission for Academic Accreditation licenses institutions and accredits programmes. Each emirate adds its own layer: the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai, the Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) in Abu Dhabi and the Sharjah Private Education Authority regulate and inspect private schools.

Many curricula, several calendars

Private schools teach British, American, IB, Indian, French and UAE national curricula side by side, often within the same school group. Arabic is compulsory in private schools and Islamic education is taught to Muslim students, whatever the main curriculum. Calendars differ too: many Indian-curriculum schools start their year in April, while most others start in late August.

Emiratisation shapes workforce training

Private-sector companies with 50 or more employees must raise the share of Emiratis in skilled roles by 2% a year, and smaller companies in selected sectors have their own hiring targets. The Nafis programme supports Emiratis moving into private-sector careers, which makes structured onboarding and training records part of everyday HR work.

How Ilmoria fits institutions in the UAE

  • Arabic and English for every family

A teacher can work in English while a parent reads the same screens in Arabic: every user picks a language, and Arabic is fully right to left. Text people write is never auto-translated. See the bilingual interface.

  • School groups across emirates

Run schools in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah from one account, each with its own branding, web address, users, data and academic breaks, so different calendars sit side by side. Leaders get central reporting across schools.

  • Evidence of learning in one place

The gradebook, competency and mastery tracking and student portfolios keep evidence of progress together, and audit trails record important actions. When inspectors ask how you track achievement, the records are already there.

  • Admissions, enrolment and fees

Families apply through private single-use links, upload report cards and receipts, and sit placement tests in maths, English and science. Student affairs tracks e-signed enrolment documents, and the finance team issues invoices and receipts. Explore admissions and enrolment.

  • Training records for Emiratisation

Companies assign onboarding and skills courses to new Emirati hires, track quiz results and completions per team, and issue certificates with QR codes that open a public verification page.

Data protection: what to check

Onshore, the main law is Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data. The DIFC (Data Protection Law No. 5 of 2020) and ADGM (Data Protection Regulations 2021) free zones run their own regimes, and health data has separate federal rules. Start by confirming which regime applies to each of your entities, then review consent, staff access, retention periods and any transfer of data outside the UAE. Ilmoria provides tools that help: consent records, role-based access, audit trails, and data export and deletion on request. We make no compliance claim and do not promise hosting in the UAE; talk to us about your hosting-region requirements and see our security overview.

Questions buyers ask

Can one account serve schools in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah?

Yes. One Ilmoria account can host many schools, each with its own branding, web address, users and isolated data. Each school's records stay separate for its own emirate regulator, curriculum and calendar, while group leadership sees central reports across all of them. Staff only see the schools they have been given access to.

Does Ilmoria support British, American, IB and Indian curricula?

Yes, because Ilmoria does not lock you into one curriculum. You build your own grade levels, sections, courses, units and lessons, and track competencies and mastery. Final course grades use letter grades from A+ to F, and transcripts show GPA and credits, which suits American-style programmes. If your school reports on other scales, such as GCSE or CBSE grades, ask us to walk through how that maps.

Can teachers use English while parents use Arabic?

Yes. Each person chooses their interface language and can switch at any time, so a teacher can mark in English while a parent reads the same report in Arabic, fully right to left. Messages and lesson content stay in the language they were written in, because Ilmoria never auto-translates what people write.

Can we run live classes on Microsoft Teams or Zoom?

Yes. Teachers schedule live sessions for a section or a whole grade and attach a Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams link. Students see the sessions in their weekly timetable, and teacher schedules can be exported. The meeting itself runs in the tool your school already licenses, while lessons, assignments and grades stay in Ilmoria.
